Amigos de Bolivia

At the Bolivian Mission to the UN on Second Avenue in New York, a small group of delegates from a new group, Amigos de Bolivia, met with the Ambassador and his staff to discuss future events in NY aimed at promoting Bolivia. Sadly, there is much ignorance about Bolivia, some of it promoted by the press - case in point was the article from the day before, Wednesday, 10 March, in which Clifford Kraus of the New York Times stated that investment in Bolivian lithium was not happening due to political instabiltiy...Kraus might be reading papers that are over a decade old. Political stability has come to Bolivia, and prosperity is not far behind, it already has the highest GDP growth rate in Latin America. The reason lithium mines were not opened is that Bolivia is working on better terms and is not anxious to jump into a relatinship that is not equal. More on this and Amigos de Bolivia and its NY events exclusively at this site...

  1. The New York Times needs to be educated - Bolivia is a hot up and coming country...
